The St. Louis Blues killed the last dragon playoffs, eliminating the Chicago Blackhawks Jersey in seven games finally defeat one of its primary torturers in the Western Conference.
It would be followed in the 2016-17 season? So far, so good for the Blues, who beat the Blackhawks 5-2 in their opener tonight in Chicago on Wednesday night. Vladimir Tarasenko had two goals; Shattenkirk Kevin Paul Stastny and also had objectives. So did Scottish Upshall.
With Corey Crawford pulled and two-goal deficit, the Blackhawks tried to get out of their own end. Brent Seabrook reverses the disc to Patrick Kane Jersey, but the disc slid right next to him and back into the empty net.
Duncan Keith skated back to avoid crossing the disc, but it was too late: The Blues had their fifth and final goal, own goal courtesy of the Blackhawks. Upshall was the last player to touch the puck, and was credited with the goal.
Not exactly the start Joel Quenneville and his team wanted.
“No doubt there will be some learning going on and we will be accepting the mistakes of hard work,” he said. “But that’s where it gets better.”

Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin skating in training morning Blackhawks on Saturday, but what was different about this practice they all skate.
Last season, the two skated with Artem Anisimov on the Hawks second line to the eye-popping results. Kane won the Hart Trophy as MVP Panarin and the Calder Trophy as best rookie in the league.
But entering this season, the Hawks are splitting Kane Panarin and to create “balance” in the lineup, according to coach Joel Quenneville.
“It is definitely a thought process,” Quenneville said. “We say ‘Let’s take a look at the camp.” And maybe we can have a look or something different to think, at least, to enter the season with Johnny and Kaner is on lines different and having more balance on both lines. ” Continue reading
TORONTO – The hockey game is an official sport of the Canadian winter. Despite a 3-1 victory over Team Europe, Team Canada played like it’s always the fall.
In the least impressive performance of Canada at the World Cup of Hockey, the team improved to 5-0 in this best-on-best tournament. But it was not what most expected of one of the largest collections of talent in history. When the final buzzer sounded, Canada won again a 1-0 lead in this championship series best-of-three, who gets Thursdays (8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
Given all the Team Canada has had success on the international stage – they are now 11-0 since the start of the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and has 15 consecutive wins dating back to the Olympics in Vancouver 2010 – this game was the one of the most unusual performance by the boys with a maple leaf on the chest.
“Well, it was not our best, and we realize that,” said Team Canada forward Steven Stamkos, who scored his first goal of the tournament. “At this point in the tournament, a win is a win, so that’s a good thing. I thought the third period we played better and with a purpose, a certain determination in our style of play, so we hope we can build on that. We achieve the first two periods are not the way we wanted to go out and play. ”
For the first time in this tournament, Canada is not playing his style of play, and Europe took advantage of that. Europe has played a patient, disciplined play. He played the best match for the first 40 minutes. Earlier in the tournament, Team Canada coach Mike Babcock said he did not give motivational speeches, given the fact that this file is loaded with veteran leaders. But you can not imagine that he was satisfied with the performance of the team after the second period.
The Blackhawks held their first scrimmage of training camp Saturday at their annual festival of training camp. And while a United Center crowd nearly full a lot of noise, it was a little quieter than usual behind the benches. Indeed, Joel Quenneville is still in Toronto, Team Canada’s assistant coach at the World Cup of Hockey.
“It’s definitely weird,” forward Ryan Hartman said.
Quenneville with nine other day opening locks are still absent from the camp, with perspective Ville Pokka. Patrick Kane, Michal Kempny and Pokka will join the Hawks Tuesday (although Kane will not play in the preseason of the first game Wednesday against Pittsburgh). But seven other Hawks – Jonathan Toews, Corey Crawford, Marian Hossa, Artemi Panarin Artem Anisimov, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Marcus Kruger – are still in Toronto. And Duncan Keith (knee) is still as skating in practices. Continue reading
If you have not been thoroughly entertained Wednesday’s exhibition of speed, skill and fearless attacking team North America used to topple a strong team in Sweden, we can not be friends.
